The Scars in your Tree

So many lies, are hidden by blinds,
while the young hold their tongues,
and try to rewind.

You see, there’s a monster alive, he creeps in-the-night. Stalking dream after dream, in the shadows he thrives.

Tucked away in our beds, with a beast on the prowl. Sweet dreams will be ending, his intentions are foul.

He stalks the dark night, with vile intent. Oblivious to danger, no time to repent. Unaware of the threat, the creature is coming. Hidden by darkness, the demon is numbing..

With his hunger now growing, he picks his delight. His heart begins racing, there won’t be a fight,

The sacrifice pure, as white as the snow. He smirks and he grins, his sins she will sow..

His victim lies sleeping, for only a  moment, soon she’ll be weeping, when nightmares are woven.

He takes what he wants, till his prey is devoured. It’s a life left behind, a garden deflowered.

Silent secrets are whispered, speculation not answered, is it my truth thats diseased? Or just beyond your belief?

With lips tightly sealed and demeanor so proper,  her beautiful smile, makes her the imposter.

Unwinding the lies,  she wants to break free. Cutting her ties, with her truth she decrees

Maintaining their image, She hides in plain sight, just below the surface, a fire ignites.

No more haunting violent screams, no more lies to set the scene, no more games are left to play,  Her life is hers to mold like clay.

She gathers her pieces, one by one, her courage increases, the fights not done..

Standing alone, shes holding her ground. Shaking and angry, she approaches the crowd.

Despite those eyes that simply can’t see, look away, not today! See the scars in your tree?
